BE 310 THE GOSPEL OF MARK

Explore the major events and teachings in the life of Jesus Christ as presented in the Gospel of Mark. Primarily aimed at a non-Jewish audience, Mark’s Gospel describes Jewish customs in detail. Increase your knowledge of the Savior as Mark describes the miracles of Jesus and provides great detail concerning the crucifixion and death of Jesus. INCLUDES AUDIO LECTURES. BE 315 THE GOSPEL OF LUKE

Follow the life of Jesus Christ as reported in Luke’s major investigative treatise. Using eyewitnesses as sources for his writings, Luke the Physician provides the most complete look at the life of Jesus. Luke shows the humanity and compassion of Jesus and gives special attention to the power of the Holy Spirit and prayer. Prerequisite:  CC 190 NT Survey

BE 320 THE GOSPEL OF JOHN

Take a journey through the teachings and major events in the life of Jesus Christ as presented in the Gospel of John. John’s Gospel presents Jesus as the Son of God and the Redeemer of all who believe in Him. John begins the account with Jesus as the eternal Word of God and ends with the Lord’s resurrection. New Testament History

The Book of Acts tells the story of the birth of the Church.

BE 325 THE BOOK OF ACTS

Follow the activities of the first-century church as presented in the Book of Acts. Luke’s investigative report begins with the presence and power of the Holy Spirit that was given to the church at Pentecost. This historical account documents the struggles of the early church and the solutions to overcome those problems. Luke also traces three missionary journeys of the Apostle Paul for the establishment of new churches.  INCLUDES AUDIO LECTURES. Prerequisite: CC 190 NT Survey

Most of the Books of the New Testament come to us in the form of letters.

BE 330 PAUL’S LETTERS TO ROME AND GALATIA

Study the Apostle Paul’s letters to the churches in Rome and Galatia. Learn the concepts involved in salvation by grace through faith. Follow the debate as Paul demonstrates that the Old Testament Law cannot offer salvation to Jews or Gentiles. Paul specifically argues against the legalistic mandate of following certain religious requirements and defends the freedom that believers have today in Christ. INCLUDES AUDIO LECTURES. BE 340 PAUL’S LETTERS TO CORINTH

Learn practical insight from this comprehensive study of two letters written by the Apostle Paul to the churches in Corinth, Greece. The first letter provides counsel on many divisive topics, including church discipline, marriage, divorce, Christian liberties, women in the church, the Lord’s Supper, spiritual gifts and tongues, the resurrection, and financial giving. BE 350 PAUL’S LETTERS TO FOUR CHURCHES

(Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 & 2 Thessalonians) Discover powerful truths through the letters written by the Apostle Paul to the churches in Ephesus, Philippi, Colossae, and Thessalonica. The Ephesian letter outlines the blessings and spiritual riches in Christ. The letter to the Philippians holds up Christ as an example of self-sacrifice and unity in purpose. BE 360 PAUL’S LETTERS TO INDIVIDUALS

(1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, and Philemon)

BE 370 GENERAL LETTERS

(Hebrews, James, 1 and 2 Peter, and Jude) 

Take an in-depth look at the general letters written to all believers. Study the letter to the Hebrews and the letters written by James, Peter, and Jude. Hebrews presents Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy. James offers practical advice for Christian living. Peter discusses persecution, false teachers, and the Lord’s return. BE 380 JOHN’S LETTERS AND THE REVELATION

Study the three letters written by John, the Beloved Apostle. John’s letters teach believers to walk in love, truth, and obedience. In Revelation, John records the vision given to him by Jesus Christ.  Prerequisite: CC 190 NT Survey 


Old Testament Law

The first five Books of Moses are the foundation of the Old Testament.

BE 405 THE BOOK OF GENESIS

Learn the foundations of Biblical truth as you study the gateway book to the Holy Bible. As the first book of the Pentateuch, the Book of Genesis explains how our world came to be. Giving special attention to creation, the flood, and the lives of the Hebrew patriarchs, the book focuses on faith. The course culminates with a study on the life of Joseph. INCLUDES AUDIO LECTURES. BE 410 EXODUS AND LEVITICUS

Build your knowledge of the Old Testament through this study of the second and third books of the Pentateuch. Meet Moses and follow the plagues that God brought upon Egypt to release His people from slavery. See how God gives Moses the law at Mount Sinai and examine portions of that law. BE 415 NUMBERS AND DEUTERONOMY

Follow the Children of Israel as they travel through the wilderness in the fourth and fifth books of the Pentateuch. The Book of Numbers records the events of people of Israel as they displayed their rebellion and unbelief. Deuteronomy presents God’s people with a choice between blessing or cursing. BE 420 JOSHUA, JUDGES, AND RUTH

The Book of Judges covers the historical period of Israel’s national decline and immorality following the death of Joshua. God preserves a remnant through the descendants of Ruth. BE 430 KINGS AND CHRONICLES

Enrich your understanding of biblical history as you study the two books of the Kings and the two books of the Chronicles. The first two books contain the history of the Jewish monarchy from the death of David to the Babylonian exile. Follow the division of Israel into two kingdoms and the moral decay that left the two kingdoms in ruins.  The Chronicles focus on the development of the true worship of God in Jerusalem. BE 435 EZRA, NEHEMIAH, AND ESTHER

The songs and wisdom books are included in the Old Testament Poetry.

BE 440 PSALMS AND SONG OF SOLOMON

Enrich your life through the poetic books known as the Psalms and the Song of Solomon. This course will touch your heart by discussing the worship of the Psalms, including the object of worship, the attitude of worship and the activities of worship. The Song of Solomon dramatizes a pure love between a man and his wife, with application to Christ and the Church. Prerequisite: CC 180 OT Survey

BE 445 THE WISDOM BOOKS

(Job, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes)

Grow in wisdom through the teachings of Job, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes. Job searches for answers after he has been stripped of his wealth, his family, and his health. Gain spiritual understanding about human suffering today. The Book of Proverbs presents life as a choice between choosing or rejecting wisdom and the consequences that follow. The Book of Ecclesiastes demonstrates that life without God is meaningless. Prerequisite: CC 180 OT Survey


Major Prophets

The Major Prophets include the larger books of prophecy in the Old Testament.

BE 450 THE BOOK OF ISAIAH

Gain valuable insight into the heart of God through the Book of Isaiah. Isaiah prophesied the coming judgment on the southern kingdom of Judah due to idolatry and wickedness. Isaiah’s prophesies also include the redemption and restoration of the nation. The Book of Isaiah reminds believers that God blesses those who are faithful to Him and keep His commandments. Prerequisite: CC 180 OT Survey

BE 455 JEREMIAH AND LAMENTATIONS

Feel the sorrow of God in the Book of Jeremiah and the Book of Lamentations. Jeremiah warned Jerusalem to turn from its wicked ways to avoid destruction and captivity from Babylon. The discussion also includes false prophets who were leading the people astray. In Lamentations, Jeremiah expresses his sorrow regarding the fall of Jerusalem and the consequences of sin. Prerequisite: CC 180 OT Survey

BE 460 EZEKIEL AND DANIEL

 Learn about the character of God from the Book of Ezekiel. Ezekiel records his own activities during his exile in Babylon. He presented the good news of the return to Jerusalem and restoration of the Kingdom. Ezekiel also prophesied of a future Kingdom that would last forever. The Book of Daniel presents God as sovereign over the affairs of men. Daniel’s prophecies span the time from his day until the coming Kingdom Age. INCLUDES AUDIO LECTURES. Minor Prophets

The Minor Prophets include the smaller books of prophecy in the Old Testament.

BE 470 Minor Prophets 1

(Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, and Micah) 

Learn timely lessons from the past as you study the first six Books of the Minor Prophets. The book of Hosea describes Hosea’s marriage to his unfaithful wife. Joel calls the nation of Judah to repent. Amos called Israel to repent of its luxurious living, idolatry, and moral depravity. Obadiah pronounced judgment upon the nation of Edom. Jonah records his calling and reluctance. Micah criticized the rich. Prerequisite: CC 180  OT Survey

BE 480 Minor Prophets 2

(Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi) 

Nahum pronounces judgment on Nineveh. Habakkuk reminds God’s people to live by faith. Zephaniah foretells judgment against Jerusalem for their sins. Haggai exhorts the few Jews who have returned to Judah from the captivity in Babylon to “consider their ways” and to complete the Temple. Zechariah also encourages the people to rebuild the Temple. Malachi denounces the complacency of God’s people. Prerequisite: CC 180 OT Survey.
