how to be saved

Sin is a problem.

All people have sinned and need a Savior.

As it is written, “THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE; THERE IS NONE  WHO UNDERSTANDS, THERE IS NONE  WHO SEEKS FOR GOD.” (Rom. 3:10–11)

God placed the sins of mankind on His Son, Jesus Christ.

All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us  has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused  the iniquity of us all to fall on Him. (Isa. 53:6)

Christ gave His life for the world so that people could be saved.

And He Himself is the propitiation for our  sins; and not for ours only, but also for [those of] the  whole world. (1 John 2:2)

But God demonstrates His own love toward  us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for  us. (Rom. 5:8)

Repentance is required.

Salvation requires repentance from sin.

Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all [people]  everywhere should repent. (Acts 17:30

Peter [said] to them, “Repent, and each of you  be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of  the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38)

Repentance now will prevent regrets later.

For the sorrow that is according to [the will of]  God produces a repentance without regret, [leading]  to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces  death. (2 Cor. 7:10)

Eternal life is a gift.

Everyone deserves eternal death, but eternal life is God's gift to mankind.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of  God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom.  6:23)

When someone accepts Jesus Christ, they also receive eternal life.

And the testimony is this, that God has given  us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who  has the Son has the life; he who does not have the  Son of God does not have the life. (1 John 5:11–12)

Everyone has a choice to make: Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ or not.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His  only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him  shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

The time is now.

Now is the best time to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Behold, now is “the acceptable time,” behold, now is “the day of salvation." (2 Cor.6:2b)

If people choose to do nothing, then by default they have rejected Him.

He who believes in Him is not judged; he who  does not believe has been judged already, because he  has not believed in the name of the only begotten  Son of God. (John 3:18)

Anyone can receive salvation by believing in Jesus Christ as Lord.

That if you confess with your mouth Jesus [as]  Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised  Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the  heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness,  and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. (Rom. 10:9–10)

For “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE  NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”  (Rom. 10:13)

Pray this sample prayer right now and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

Heavenly Father,

I repent of every sin that I have ever committed. Please wash my sins all away by the blood of Jesus Christ.  Thank You for sending Your Son to die in my place. I believe He  rose from the dead so that I could live. I now accept this free gift of salvation that You have given to me. I confess that Jesus Christ  is the Lord of my life. Thank You,  Father, for saving me and giving me the gift of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

If you accepted Jesus as your Savior, all of Heaven is rejoicing!

"In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." (Luke 15:10)
